Michelle has been with CI for 7 years. She earned her associate’s degree as an occupational therapy assistant at Madison College. She has experience working with children of all ages and with a variety of diagnoses, including autism, fetal alcohol syndrome, cerebral palsy, anxiety disorder, reactive attachment disorder, Down syndrome, and attention deficit hyperactivity disorder. Michelle is certified in Interactive Metronome, Astronaut Training, Feeding trained and Therapeutic Listening. Her third child was born with a disability, which motivated her to begin learning about occupational therapy. She is passionate about helping not only her child but all children grow and become independent adults. Areas of specific interest include activities of daily living, ADHD, the gut-brain connection, and sensory processing. Through her journey with her son, she has become motivated to be a source of knowledge and support for families regarding community resources and therapeutic techniques. In her free time she enjoys woodworking and refinishing old furniture, hanging out with her family, and practicing yoga.
