Mackenna is originally from Texas but has called Wisconsin home for the past 2 years. She is obsessed with her houseplants and is always looking to add more to her collection. She also has a golden retriever puppy named Swift (yes, after Taylor Swift).

Mackenna received her bachelor’s degree in kinesiology and health promotion from the University of Wyoming and her master’s degree in occupational therapy from Carroll University in Waukesha, Wisconsin. During her time in Wyoming, she worked as a group fitness instructor and taught a variety of exercise classes, including HIIT, water aerobics, cycling, and paddle board yoga. She also worked as a therapy technician at an outpatient orthopedic clinic, which is where she fell in love with occupational therapy as a career. During OT school, she completed a clinical fieldwork rotation at a pediatric outpatient clinic and this experience cemented her passion for working with kids. Mackenna loves how creative she gets to be as an OT and that work never feels like work! Some of Mackenna’s therapy passions include emotional regulation, sensory integration, and feeding therapy. She is so excited to join the amazing CI team and provide fun, family-centered, play-based therapy! Outside of work, Mackenna’s favorite occupations include: paddle boarding, camping, hiking, reading, going to concerts, crafting with her Cricut, trying new Madison restaurants, and going on walks with her husband and dog.
