Katie graduated with her bachelors degree from University of Wisconsin-Whitewater in 2016 with a degree in marketing communications and advertising. While attending school, she worked as a substitute teacher in the Stoughton Area School District, which is what inspired her to go into the field of occupational therapy. She completed a project with Marshall Elementary School creating an indoor and outdoor sensory pathway with the help of 2 of her cohorts from her COTA Honors Program (one of which also works at CI). She also has taught swim lessons and worked in aquatics since 2009. Before joining the team at CI, Katie also worked as a respite provider in Dane County, working with children with various disabilities. She spent 5 weeks traveling in Belgium, Netherlands and Denmark. She loves working with all her clients and their families at CI. Outside of work, Katie loves spending time with her two orange tabby cats, Oskar and Nemo. She also loves to spend time with her pet lovebird, Skippy. Katie enjoys traveling, baking sweet treats, cheering on all Wisconsin sports teams, spending time on/near the water, going for long walks and gardening. Katie has completed continuing education on mindfulness,supporting kids in the school setting with ADHD and Autism, toileting and interoception, play based intervention. Katie looks forward to what the future looks like for all her clients at CI.
