Jess earned her bachelor’s degree in Child Life Education from Edgewood College in Madison and was certified as a Child Life Specialist in 2014. {Child Life Specialists teach, prepare, & support children through medical procedures, encounters, & other potentially traumatic life events.} Over the years, she has provided family-centered care, child-friendly medical education/diagnoses teaching, therapeutic and play-based interventions, bereavement services, and facilitated coping through procedural support with pediatric patients. The greatest reward in her career thus far has been seeing children move from a place of fear and doubt, to confidence and mastery of a skill. Her strengths stem from her foundation in child development and are further rooted by both her experience working at the bedside in direct patient care, and by being a parent herself. What Jess loves most about CI, is being on a 100% pediatric-focused team, collaborating closely with such amazing professionals, and working in a play-based atmosphere! She remains current in the field of Pediatrics through the maintenance of her CCLS credential. What Jess finds very significant and prioritizes in her work as a Psychometrist at CI, is establishing rapport with her clients. When Jess isn’t working, she is living life to the fullest with her 2 kids! They are often soaking up all of the quality time and activities they can get– visiting family, adventures, beaches, parks, hikes, music, toys, baking, and the Packers are all on the list of the many joys!
